OUR PEOPLE
NZWEA currently employs two people on a part time basis, the Chief Executive Officer and the Communications Director.
Kevin Hart joined the New Zealand Wind Energy Association as Chief Executive in May 2023.
Kevin is a former NZWEA board member and has a background in electricity transmission & distribution, renewable generation, electricity wholesale markets and digital technologies specific to the energy sector. Kevin champions the role that wind energy plays to enable the decarbonisation of the energy sector in support of the Government’s renewable energy and climate change targets.
Kevin joins the Association from General Electric (GE) where he was recently Asia Pacific’s Regional General Manager of GE Digital and is formerly CEO GE New Zealand. Kevin has been involved in the energy sector for over 35 years both domestically and internationally, having previously worked for French multi-national Alstom Grid, Power Systems Consultants and Transpower NZ Ltd

Kira Mikelatos - Communications Director
Kira joined the New Zealand Wind Energy Association as Communications Director in June 2023.
Kira previously worked for the NZ Food & Grocery Council and spent 12 years as the Executive Assistant to the CEO. She has a background in office management, having previously worked for Telecom NZ, Creative NZ and the NZ Parliament as Executive Secretary to the Honourable Murray McCully.
In her role at NZWEA, she provides administrative and office support to the Chief Executive, and undertakes various duties associated with the promotion of the Association and with event management.
