Genesis Energy has resource consent to build an 18 megawatt wind farm on Awhitu Peninsula south of Auckland. The proposed wind farm will have a maximum of 18 turbines, with a capacity of approximately one megawatt each.
The Awhitu Wind Farm project is currently on hold. Genesis Energy has decided to defer construction of the wind farm to allow time to reassess the project’s economics.
