NZWEA Code of Ethics

NZWEA recognises that members of the wind industry should act in manner which is responsible and ethically sound, as so much of what it does involves working closely with the general public and numerous other stakeholders, every day.

The Rules of the New Zealand Wind Energy Association, which were adopted in 1997, place an undertaking on NZWEA members to ensure that they do not engage in any discreditable activities or conduct prejudicial to the Association.

The Code of Ethics of the New Zealand Wind Energy Association and its associated Disciplinary Procedures (PDF, 133KB) clarifies:
  • what constitutes “discreditable conduct or conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Association”
  • the appropriate action to take in the event that any member is “guilty of discreditable conduct or conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Association.”

The Code of Ethics and the disciplinary procedures are binding on all NZWEA members.

If any person has any concerns regarding the conduct of any member of the New Zealand Wind Energy Association then they are invited to seek redress through this Code of Ethics.
